Aiken, S.C. – Law enforcement authorities have apprehended a suspect on Wednesday following allegations of attempted murder during an armed robbery incident in Aiken. The incident took place on June 30, wherein a victim was shot in the leg and robbed at gunpoint on the 300 block of Kershaw Street northeast. The victim recounted that he was sitting on the porch with three other individuals when one of them shot him and demanded all of his belongings, including a sum of $3,000. Subsequently, the perpetrators made their escape in a black Chevrolet sedan. In his attempt to flee, the victim ran towards the front door, resulting in the shattering of the glass windowpane. Authorities have now identified the suspect as Kenneth Richardson, aged 30, who was apprehended weeks after the incident. It should be noted that two individuals were sleeping inside the residence at the time of the occurrence. Additionally, the victim informed deputies that one of the individuals present on the porch during the shooting was acquainted with all parties involved. As per jail records, Richardson faces multiple charges, including assault with intent to commit murder, armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, resisting arrest, and failure to comply with a police signal..
