A 20-year-old man, Isaac J. Thurston, has been charged with first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of a 50-year-old Glenview resident, Perron Thurston, in what police described as a domestic-related incident. Perron Thurston was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. He had previously worked as a gym and history teacher at Altus Academy in Chicago. A 20-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder by the police following the tragic stabbing of a 50-year-old resident of Glenview. The authorities have described the incident as a “domestic-related incident.” The accused, Isaac J. Thurston, who resides on Arbor Lane in Glenview, was charged with one count of first-degree murder on Monday afternoon. The victim, Perron Thurston, also lived on Arbor Lane, and the police were alerted to the stabbing at around 6:30 a.m. on Monday. Perron Thurston was rushed to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital but was pronounced dead. Perron Thurston had a career in education and was employed as a gym and history teacher at Altus Academy, a private elementary school in Chicago, until 2021. Altus Principal Alfredo Villegas expressed his sadness over Perron’s death and extended his condolences to the family. Before joining Altus Academy, Perron Thurston worked as an instructional assistant at Marie Murphy School in Wilmette from 2009 to June 2014, according to Avoca School District 37 Superintendent Kaine Osburn. The case is currently being investigated by Glenview Village detectives, with support from the North Regional Violent Crimes Task Force, the Cook County state’s attorney’s office, and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. The Glenview Police have stated that they believe this was a targeted incident and that there is no immediate threat to the public. Isaac Thurston is scheduled to appear at a bond hearing at the Skokie courthouse..
