Three people have died and four others are missing in Dolakha district, Nepal, due to landslides and floods caused by heavy rainfall. A father and son were swept away by a stream, while two others were buried in a landslide. Search efforts for the missing individuals are ongoing, but are being hampered by continuous rain. Republica reported

Three individuals have tragically lost their lives and four others are currently missing as a result of landslides and floods caused by continuous rainfall over the past week in Dolakha district. One man and his young son were swept away by a stream in Rakham of Bigu Rural Municipality on Sunday afternoon. The victims have been identified as Nima Dorje Sherpa, aged 35, and his 12-year-old son Pasang, according to Ward Chairman Dal Bahadur Shrestha. Despite ongoing search efforts, the missing individuals have not yet been located. The relentless rain has hindered the search operations, as informed by Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Dolakha, Dipak Khadka.

In separate incidents, tragedy struck on Tuesday when Tirish Tamang from Orang of Bigu Rural Municipality-2 was buried in a landslide. On Thursday, a landslide occurred at Marbu Topatar of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality-7, claiming the lives of 50-year-old Devi Maya Magar and her one and a half-year-old son Prince Thami. Additionally, two individuals, Krishna Magar aged 60, and Harila Shrestha aged 49, went missing in the landslide.

It is crucial to note that the search and rescue operations are still ongoing, with hopes of finding the missing individuals and preventing further loss of life..
