Magoo, who is best known as one half of the rap duo Timbaland & Magoo, has reportedly passed away at the age of 50. The news was first shared by Digital Black, a member of the group Playa, who posted a tribute to Magoo on his Instagram page. Ginuwine, another artist, also appeared to pay tribute to Magoo on social media. He mentioned that he had heard some news and hoped it wasn’t true. He emphasized the importance of cherishing loved ones and expressing love while there is still time.

Timbaland & Magoo formed their rap group in 1989 when they were teenagers. While they gained recognition for their single “Up Jumps Da Boogie,” they released three albums and were particularly known for their collaborations with Missy Elliott.

In 2021, Blackground Records and Empire Distribution partnered to re-release the entire Timbaland & Magoo catalogue, including Timbaland’s solo album “Tim’s Bio: Life from the Basement” from 1998. This distribution deal allowed their music to be available on streaming platforms, reaching a wider audience than ever before.

Magoo received recognition in May 2020, although it sparked controversy between him and Timbaland. A Twitter user declared Magoo as the worst rapper ever, sharing a clip of his verse from the duo’s 1997 hit “Luv 2 Luv U.” However, many fans defended Magoo’s skills, comparing them favorably to current music trends.
