Bradley Van Heeswyk, a 25-year-old man from Des Moines, was shot and killed by a police officer in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. The officer, Steven Burroughs, fired his weapon after Van Heeswyk was seen shooting a gun. Van Heeswyk was taken to the hospital but later died. The Pleasant Hill Police Department has released the name of the individual who was fatally shot by a police officer in Iowa. The man has been identified as Bradley Van Heeswyk, a 25-year-old resident of Des Moines. According to reports, the incident occurred in the 400 block of Pleasant Circle after police received reports of a man firing a gun. Officer Steven Burroughs intervened and used his weapon to stop the threat posed by Van Heeswyk. Despite life-saving efforts, Van Heeswyk succumbed to his injuries at Mercy Hospital. Thankfully, no one else was harmed during the incident. Prior to the confrontation with the police, Van Heeswyk had also killed two family dogs. Officer Burroughs has been placed on paid administrative leave in accordance with department policy, while the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation assists with the ongoing inquiry..
