A man jumped into a river in Odisha’s Cuttack district with his nine-month-old child, under mysterious circumstances. The child was rescued by locals and taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, while the man remains missing. A distressing incident occurred in the Kandarpur area of Cuttack district, Odisha, as a man plunged into the Sidhua river along with his nine-month-old child under mysterious circumstances. The incident unfolded in Sainda village, where locals managed to rescue the infant and transport them to a nearby hospital in critical condition. However, the man, identified as Prakash Chandra Pradhan, remains unaccounted for. Pradhan, who resided in his father-in-law’s residence, allegedly resorted to this extreme action following a dispute within the family.
The unfortunate event transpired while Pradhan and his wife were on their way to visit a temple, but a trivial issue sparked a quarrel between the couple. The situation escalated rapidly, compelling the man to hastily head towards the river. In the process, he even resorted to assaulting his wife with a stone when she attempted to intervene.
Promptly responding to the incident, local residents swiftly came to the child’s aid, successfully rescuing them from the perilous waters. However, extensive efforts are still underway to locate the man, who was swept away by the strong currents of the river.
Fire services personnel and Cuttack Sadar police were promptly notified and have since arrived at the scene. They have initiated a search operation to locate Pradhan and bring an end to this distressing ordeal.
