A fatal motorcycle accident occurred in Grant County when a Muncie man, Garrett Gaddis, evaded police during a traffic stop. The incident took place at the intersection of State Road 9 and Goff Drive in Marion. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office attempted to pull over Gaddis for a traffic violation but he refused to stop and instead fled in a northern direction on State Road 9, prompting a police pursuit. Although the pursuit was eventually discontinued by Indiana State Police near State Road 9 and 40th Street in Marion, Gaddis continued to speed. Tragically, Gaddis collided with a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Kenneth Bledson, as it was turning into the parking lot of McClure Gas Station on State Road 9. Sadly, Gaddis succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grant County Coroner’s Office. Bledson and his passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment..
