One individual has died as a result of a collision in Laurens County. The incident occurred shortly before 10 PM last night at the intersection of Harris Springs Road and US 221 Highway. According to the Highway Patrol, a car traveling north on Harris Springs Road veered off the right side of the road, struck a ditch, overturned, and collided with the railroad track on US 221. The driver of the car was fatally injured, while the passenger sustained injuries but was not transported to the hospital. Further details are currently unavailable. Stay tuned to WYFF for live updates. The Sheriff's Office in Greenwood County is currently searching for a man considered to be armed and dangerous in connection with a woman's death. The Coroner's Office responded to Kerr Road in Donalds after a woman was discovered deceased inside a vehicle. The victim, identified as 47-year-old Crystal Rainey of Greenville, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities are attempting to locate 40-year-old Joshua Dean Nix of Greenville, who is known to have connections throughout South Carolina. It is advised not to approach Nix if spotted, but rather to immediately call 911. Two individuals have been charged by the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office in relation to a murder investigation. Deputies were called to a burning vehicle near the intersection of Sharon Road and Fowler Road on August 8th. The victim, identified as 51-year-old Leroy Palmer Jr., had been reported missing on August 4th. A trail camera near Palmer's car revealed images of a man setting the vehicle on fire. Investigators have arrested Jimmy Salters and Odell Ferguson in connection with Palmer's death, as security footage from a local business showed the two individuals together prior to the crime. In Anderson County, a chemical explosion occurred on Saturday afternoon. The incident took place at around 1 PM on Abbeville Highway when residents mixed pool chemicals together inside a container at their private residence. The explosion resulted in the release of a chlorine-like gas, necessitating the evacuation of several homes. Emergency medical services treated the residents at the scene before transporting them to a nearby hospital. The Homeland Park Fire Department will conduct further investigations, although there is currently no threat to the surrounding area. A detention officer in Richland County has been arrested for using excessive force on a detainee. The incident, which involved 25-year-old Bryant Sapp, took place on June 29th after Sapp struck and kicked the detainee multiple times in response to being spat upon. Sapp failed to de-escalate the situation. Fortunately, the detainee did not sustain any injuries. Following an investigation, Sapp was recently booked on charges of assault and battery, as well as misconduct in office. Additionally, three others were injured in the blaze, which began around 2:25 AM on Friday at a vacation home. Firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby properties.
