A 43-year-old man, Rukhsar Ahmed, has been arrested in Mumbai for making a hoax bomb threat to the police. Ahmed, a tailor, had made 79 calls to the police control room in the past five months. A 43-year-old man, identified as Rukhsar Ahmed, was apprehended by Mumbai Police for allegedly making a false bomb threat to the authorities. Ahmed, who works as a tailor, had been frequently contacting the city’s police control room over the past five months with various complaints and issues. Upon questioning, it was revealed that the accused may be suffering from mental instability. The incident occurred when Ahmed called the police control room late Saturday night, claiming that a 100-kilogram bomb was planted somewhere in Mumbai. The police successfully traced the caller’s location to the Malvani area and subsequently arrested Ahmed. He has been charged under section 506-II of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with punishment for criminal intimidation, among other relevant sections. The investigation is still ongoing.
