On Thursday afternoon, at approximately 12:15 p.m., the California Highway Patrol (CHP) swiftly responded to a crash that took place on Highway 41 near Creston. The victim, identified as Joseph Haga, a 71-year-old resident of Templeton, was riding his Yamaha MT10 motorcycle in a southbound direction, just north of mile marker 34.00, when the tragic accident occurred.

According to reports from the CHP, Haga was attempting to navigate a right turn on the road when he unexpectedly veered off the side, causing him to lose control. As a result of this sudden deviation, his motorcycle collided with a barbed wire fence and fence posts, ultimately ejecting Haga from his vehicle. Tragically, Haga was pronounced dead at the scene.

The CHP is actively conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. While the exact cause of the accident remains unknown at this time, preliminary findings indicate that neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the incident.
