A domestic attack in McHenry County, IL left four household members dead. Jean Song, believed to be the aggressor, was found injured and later died in the hospital. Among the deceased is Jean Song, a 44-year-old man who is believed to be the aggressor in the attack. When deputies arrived at the scene around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, they found Song seriously injured. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. It is worth noting that Song had no previous criminal record in McHenry County, according to online court records. Furthermore, the sheriff’s office had never received any previous calls regarding incidents at the home.

Authorities have not yet released any details about the motive behind the attack. The sole survivor, a woman who is also a relative of the victims, called the police to report a household member shooting their relatives.

The victims have been identified as Chang Song (73), Yuna Song (49), and Lauren Smith-Song (32). The exact relationships between the household members have not been disclosed. The surviving woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and her current condition remains unknown.

Neighbours describe the neighborhood as peaceful and friendly, with a mix of older residents and young families. They express shock and disbelief that such a tragic incident could occur in their tight-knit community.
