In Christian County, Missouri, a man has been killed, his wife has been arrested, and a deputy has been injured after the couple fled to Michigan with their two children in an attempt to escape an abduction and parental kidnapping warrant.
The woman was apprehended in Goetzville, Michigan, in the early hours of Wednesday, where she and her husband had been staying with their two children.

The man, identified as Giovanni McNab, was at a residence in Goetzville when the U.S. Marshals Special Operations Group attempted to serve a warrant for the abduction of the two children.
McNab opened fire and wounded one of the deputies, according to officials. The deputy was taken to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.
This incident marked the beginning of a lengthy standoff between McNab and the U.S. Marshals, during which McNab barricaded himself inside the house with the two children and refused to surrender.

Later that night, the Marshals entered the house and discovered McNab dead, while the two children were unharmed. The children have since been placed in protective custody.
The operation was carried out with the assistance of the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, and the FBI’s Detroit Field Office.
