Montgomery County Constable Precinct 5 Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a high speed in Magnolia, TX. The vehicle stopped at a residence where the passenger informed deputies that their father was deceased inside the house. Deputies found a male with a gunshot wound and he later died at the hospital. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting, but it is believed to be an isolated incident with no danger to the public. The victim has been identified as Donald Hayslip, 67. In Magnolia, TX on August 10, 2023, around 7:20 p.m., law enforcement officers from Montgomery County Constable Precinct 5 noticed a vehicle travelling at an excessive speed and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, the vehicle did not comply and eventually halted in front of a residence on Allene Drive in Magnolia, TX. During the process of detaining the individuals in the vehicle, one of the passengers informed the deputies that their father was deceased inside the house, which explained their erratic driving behavior.

Subsequently, the deputies entered the residence and discovered a male victim with an evident gunshot wound. The injured individual was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries. Given the circumstances, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Detectives, in conjunction with Crime Scene Investigators, were summoned to aid the Precinct 5 Constables in conducting a thorough investigation of the shooting incident.

The deceased individual has been identified as Donald Hayslip, a 67-year-old resident of Magnolia. This ongoing investigation indicates that the incident appears to be an isolated event, posing no danger to the general public..
