Joshua Hernandez: A Brief Profile

Joshua Hernandez was a young man of twenty years. The victim’s body was identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

He suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head, which the police have classified as a homicide. The shooting took place on August 8, shortly before 11:30 p.m., in the vicinity of Birdstone Court, close to Owens Avenue and Nellis Boulevard. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found two men with gunshot injuries.

Hernandez was immediately transported to UMC, where he succumbed to his injuries on August 9 at approximately 1:30 a.m., as confirmed by the coroner’s office. The second man was also taken to the hospital, but fortunately, his injuries were not life-threatening, according to the police.

Subsequently, the case was handed over to homicide detectives for further investigation. Reports indicate that the investigation has been forwarded to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for review, with a possible consideration of self-defense in this particular case.

Another incident was reported, involving Wilson County deputies allegedly shooting a man at a residence on Linwood Road. According to the sheriff’s office statement, the man was instructed to drop the firearm he was holding, but he refused to comply.

Authorities received a call to investigate a property in the 3500 block of Linwood Road shortly after 6 o’clock. Upon arrival, deputies encountered an armed individual. When the man disregarded the deputies’ orders to surrender his weapon, shots were fired.
