The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal two-car collision on Route 5 in Pembroke. Nikki Stonebraker, the driver of a 2007 Ford Freestyle, crossed the yellow line and struck a 2013 Dodge Caravan. Stonebraker was pronounced dead at the scene, while the occupants of the Dodge Caravan were transported to the hospital with severe injuries. The cause of the collision is still under investigation. The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic collision involving two vehicles on Route 5 in Pembroke. The incident was reported to the county Emergency Dispatch Center via a 9-1-1 call at 3:38 p.m. Upon arrival at the scene, authorities discovered that one of the drivers had tragically lost their life. The deceased individual has been identified as Nikki Stonebraker, a 34-year-old resident of Batavia, who was operating a 2007 Ford Freestyle. Stonebraker was traveling east on Route 5 when her vehicle veered across the yellow line and collided with a 2013 Dodge Caravan traveling in the opposite direction. The driver and passenger of the Dodge Caravan, whose identities were not disclosed by the county Sheriff’s Office on Thursday night, sustained severe injuries and were promptly transported to Erie County Medical Center for treatment. Sadly, Stonebraker was pronounced dead at the scene by Genesee County Coroner Karen Lang. The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office. Various agencies provided assistance at the scene, including the New York State Police, Genesee County Emergency Management, Pembroke Fire Department, East Pembroke Fire Department, Indian Falls Fire Department, and Mercy EMS..
