The police have confirmed that these calls are fraudulent and are aimed at defrauding individuals of their money and personal information. Residents have been alerted to a fraudulent phone call scam, according to a press release from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. A Dublin resident reported receiving a call from an individual claiming to be a sergeant from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. However, authorities confirmed that the call was a scam and that neither Dublin Police Services nor the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office had made any attempt to contact the resident. These scam calls are designed to deceive people into divulging their personal information or providing financial resources. To combat this, Dublin Police Services advises residents to contact them at 925-833-6670 if they receive a suspicious call or encounter someone impersonating a police officer..
