“Emilio Catroppa Indicted on Murder Charges for Death of Wife”

Emilio Catroppa of Cleveland has been indicted on murder charges by the White County Grand Jury. Catroppa was arrested in October 2022 following a domestic dispute in which his wife was run over by a truck. She later died from her injuries, leading to upgraded charges of Malice Murder and Felony Murder. The grand jury also indicted Catroppa on charges of Homicide by Vehicle-leaving the scene, Aggravated Assault, and Hit and Run. WRWH reported

(Cleveland) – The White County Grand Jury reconvened during the current April term to address various matters brought before them. The grand jury reviewed 26 cases, resulting in 25 indictments and one case being dismissed.
After carefully considering the presented evidence, the grand jury issued an indictment on murder charges against Emilio Catroppa from Cleveland.
Catroppa was apprehended by the White County Sheriff’s Office on October 23rd, 2022, following an incident that occurred at a residence in Cleveland.
During the time of his arrest, Sheriff Rick Kelley of White County stated that deputies from the sheriff’s office had responded to a domestic dispute in progress at 52 Shadow Creek Point in Cleveland. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a woman, aged 58, who had been struck by a truck.
According to the sheriff, Emilio Catroppa, a 58-year-old resident of Cleveland and the victim’s husband, was questioned by investigators and subsequently charged with Aggravated Assault with a motor vehicle under the Family Violence Act (FVA). He was then taken into custody.
The victim, identified as Catroppa’s wife, was transported by White County EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with severe injuries.
Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries on November 1st, leading investigators to elevate the charges to Malice Murder and Felony Murder.
In addition to the murder charges, the grand jury indicted Catroppa for Homicide by Vehicle-leaving the scene, Aggravated Assault, and Hit and Run.
