Melle Mel is facing severe criticism for his recently released diss track aimed at Eminem, which he had previewed online the night before. The track, titled “Melle Mel’s Response to Eminem’s Latest Diss,” premiered on YouTube on Tuesday (August 8). In the song, the legendary Hip Hop pioneer mentions The Game and Pee-Wee Herman as he retaliates against the Detroit native. Melle Mel’s lyrics include lines such as “The Top 5 is cap/ You the piss that’s on the floor in the elevator of rap” and “Why you ducking on The Game when you shit on my name?/ Why they put Pee-Wee Herman in the hall of fame?” He also accuses Eminem of popping pills again and asserts that his lawyer, who is white, could take Eminem’s land.

The response to the diss track has not been kind to Melle Mel, with many claiming that even Nick Cannon’s lackluster attempts at dissing Eminem were better. One commenter wrote, “I never thought it was possible to make a worse diss than Nick Cannon’s disses to Em. Today, I was proven wrong. Well done.” Another added, “Between YOU, THE GAME and NICK, I think you might beat them in having the worst disstrack EM has ever gotten.” Another person commented, “Cannot believe one of the originators of hip hop released this and stated going against Eminem was going to be ‘the easiest thing he’d ever do’…. Delete this Melvin, you’ve embarrassed yourself massively here.” One commenter expressed sadness at seeing a veteran artist like Melle Mel go out on such a low note, while another sarcastically remarked that the track was about as good as any new music released nowadays.

One disappointed listener demanded a lengthy apology of 500 words from Melle Mel for wasting their time, and an Eminem fan expressed disappointment as they were hoping for Eminem to respond, which they now doubt will happen. In March, Melle Mel had made controversial remarks about Eminem’s success, claiming that it was due to his skin color. He argued that if Eminem were Black, he wouldn’t be considered a top rapper, despite his talent and record sales.

Eminem did not forget these comments and addressed them in a fiery response on Ez Mil’s new track, “Realest.” Released on Friday (August 4), Eminem dismissed the notion that his success is solely based on his skin color and rapped about the challenges he has faced as a white artist in Hip Hop. He also took a direct shot at Melle Mel, warning him to stay out of his way and mocking him for alleged steroid use.

Overall, Melle Mel’s diss track received negative feedback, with listeners expressing disappointment and disbelief at its quality. In contrast, Eminem’s response garnered attention and praise for his lyrical skill and ability to address criticism..
