The two-episode season three premiere of Only Murders in the Building reveals that the murder mystery podcasters, played by Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, will be solving another murder, with Paul Rudd playing the victim. The new season takes a significant leap forward in two ways: the murder occurs a year after the events of the previous seasons, and it takes place in a building outside of the main setting. The premiere episode, titled “The Show Must,” introduces the death of Ben Glenroy (Rudd), an actor who appeared to die on stage in the previous season but miraculously survived. However, his resurrection is short-lived as his body is discovered on top of an elevator by the end of the premiere. The podcasters, Charles-Haden Savage (Martin), Oliver Putnam (Short), and Mabel Mora (Gomez), are back in action, ready to solve the new mystery. The season introduces a range of suspects with motives and opportunities to kill Ben Glenroy. One notable addition to the cast is Meryl Streep, who plays Loretta Durkin, a struggling actress and love interest for Oliver. The tension between Loretta and Ben raises suspicions, as does her desire to open the door for a romance with Oliver. Another suspect is Dickie Glenroy (Jeremy Shamos), Ben’s brother and manager, who may have poisoned Ben due to their strained relationship. Tobert (Jesse Williams), Ben’s documentarian, also raises suspicions with his cryptic dialogue. Donna and Clifford DiMeo (Linda Emond and Wesley Taylor), the producers of the play, exhibit questionable behavior and may have been driven to murder by Ben’s diva-like behavior. Additionally, Howard (Michael Cyril Creighton), a resident of the building, becomes a suspect due to his audition for Oliver’s play and subsequent role as Oliver’s assistant. As the season progresses, the true murderer will be revealed. Only Murders in the Building season three airs new episodes on Hulu every Tuesday..
