The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office is now treating a suspicious death case as a homicide, as confirmed by the county coroner’s office. Deputies from the PCSO were initially called to investigate a vehicle accident on Tenderfoot Lane in Pueblo West, where they discovered the lifeless body of Larry Derrick Maes inside a white SUV. Initially categorized as a suspicious death, the coroner’s office later revealed that Maes had died from a single gunshot wound, prompting the investigation to be upgraded to a homicide. At this time, no arrests have been made, and the PCSO is withholding further details, including any involvement of other vehicles or individuals in the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the PCSO or Pueblo Crime Stoppers.
