A suspect who was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old from Baltimore has been discovered deceased in Southeast D.C., according to the police. The remains of the suspect, identified as Avery Miller, 27, were found in Fort Chaplin Park in the 4300 block of C Street SE on April 4. The victim, Aryeh Wolf, was shot while installing solar panels at a residence in Southeast D.C. on a Wednesday in the summer of 2022. Authorities responded to the scene on August 10, 2022, and discovered Wolf with a gunshot wound. Despite being taken to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. A surveillance camera captured footage of a man believed to be the suspect, Avery Miller, walking through an alley or driveway with a bag and a gun. In September 2022, a 911 caller reported sighting Miller in the 5300 block of Ames Street NE. Officers arrived at the scene and encountered a suspect matching the caller’s description. Miller allegedly fired shots at the officers and fled into a residential building. No officers were harmed during the incident. A manhunt ensued, resulting in the disruption of school activities at nearby campuses. The suspect was wanted on a first-degree murder warrant, with a reward of $55,000 offered for information leading to his arrest.
