Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Long Beach. The victim, Kelvin Montoya, was shot during an argument that escalated into a shooting and stabbing. Police authorities have apprehended two individuals suspected of being involved in a fatal shooting in Long Beach that resulted in the death of a 20-year-old man over the weekend.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening at approximately 7:20 p.m., when a confrontation between 20-year-old Kelvin Montoya and the two suspects escalated into a tragic incident.
Preliminary investigations by the Long Beach Police Department revealed that Montoya was acquainted with the suspects and had met them for the purpose of purchasing marijuana. While traveling through Long Beach in a car, an argument ensued between the three individuals.
The altercation continued to escalate until it ultimately led to a shooting and stabbing incident near the intersection of 29th Street and Chestnut Avenue.
Montoya was pronounced dead at the scene, and law enforcement officers discovered a discarded firearm nearby.

Investigators managed to gather evidence linking the two suspects, identified as 23-year-old Robert Mallard and 19-year-old John Nelson II, to the shooting. Both suspects were promptly arrested after receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the incident.
