A Yerington man has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of his roommate, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. Timothy Brewer, 57, was taken into custody after the body of his roommate, Sir Charles Lester, was found buried at their shared home. <p id="h176449-p1" class="permalinkable">A murder charge has been filed against a man from Yerington following the death of his roommate, as announced by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.</p>
<p id="h176449-p2" class="permalinkable">Timothy Brewer, aged 57, was taken into custody on Thursday, August 3, in relation to the demise of Sir Charles Lester, aged 56. A body, tentatively identified as Lester's, was discovered buried at their shared residence on 4 Farrell Lane in Yerington, according to a press release issued by the LCSO.</p>
<p id="h176449-p3" class="permalinkable">On June 28, LCSO deputies responded to a welfare check request concerning Lester at Farrell Lane. Concerned friends and family members had not been in contact with Lester for nearly a week.</p>
<p id="h176449-p4" class="permalinkable">According to the release, Brewer informed law enforcement that he had last seen Lester on June 20. Brewer stated that he and Lester had engaged in a verbal argument, after which Lester departed the residence in the company of an unidentified friend. Brewer claimed to have had no further contact with Lester since then.</p>
<p id="h176449-p5" class="permalinkable">On Thursday, August 3, LCSO detectives conducted a search of 4 Farrell Lane and discovered what appeared to be a freshly-dug gravesite, as stated in the release. The detectives, along with forensic technicians from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, found the body of a deceased male, tentatively identified as Lester.</p>
<p id="h176449-p6" class="permalinkable">Brewer was arrested and booked into the Lyon County Jail on charges of open murder and destruction of evidence.</p>
