A man from Pulaski County, Virginia, who was reported missing, has now been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Korey Rice is also facing charges of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, malicious wounding, and brandishing a firearm. The arrest is in connection to a shooting that took place in Fairlawn, where Mathew Carper of Blacksburg was fatally shot. The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Korey Rice, the aforementioned man, is also facing charges of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, malicious wounding, and brandishing a firearm. On July 30th, Pulaski County deputies promptly responded to a shooting incident on Overlook Lane, where they discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound. Tragically, the victim, identified as Mathew Carper from Blacksburg, succumbed to his injuries. Rice is currently being held without bond at the New River Regional Jail..
