TARZANA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Police authorities have disclosed the identity of a man who was fatally shot at a Metro bus stop in Tarzana on Friday evening.

The victim has been identified as Brandyn Rodrigo Mendez, a 28-year-old resident of Van Nuys.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Mendez was gunned down at the Orange Line bus station situated on Reseda Boulevard and Oxnard Street.

The incident unfolded when Mendez and another individual engaged in a verbal altercation with the assailant, who subsequently brandished a firearm and fired multiple rounds before fleeing the scene.

Law enforcement officers arrived at the location at approximately 7:25 PM and discovered the two injured victims in the parking lot.

Mendez succumbed to his injuries later at a hospital, while the other victim is reported to be in a stable condition, as per police sources.

No arrests have been made thus far, and the LAPD is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the perpetrator.
