A man has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder after a shooting in Pender County, North Carolina. The victim, identified as Ronald Lee Simmons Jr., was found with gunshot wounds and died at the scene. An individual has been taken into custody and is facing charges of 2nd Degree Murder following a shooting incident in Pender County.
The Pender County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the incident on Thursday evening in the 5900 block of Shaw Highway in Rocky Point.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered a victim with gunshot wounds who unfortunately succumbed to their injuries despite the arrival of emergency medical services.
The victim has been identified as Ronald Lee Simmons Jr., aged 42.
Michael Allen Simmons, the victim’s brother-in-law, has been apprehended and is now facing charges in relation to the shooting.
He is currently being held in the Pender County Jail on a bond of $1 million.
