The second suspect in the fatal shooting near the University of Nevada has been arrested and identified as 16-year-old Julian Hutton-Reed. The shooting was allegedly between rival gang members at the Fifteen 51 Apartments. Surveillance video shows the first suspect, Stefan Howard Jr., and the second suspect encountering the victims in the front lobby before an argument broke out. Howard Jr. allegedly shot through a window, causing the victims to run away. One victim stumbled back into the lobby and collapsed, while another was locked out and shot when trying to jump over a railing. Howard Jr. was traced to a family residence and taken into custody. He faces a charge of open murder. The victims have been identified as Santiago Rodriguez and Manuel Garcia. New information has emerged regarding the fatal shooting that occurred at the Fifteen 51 Apartments on North Virginia Street. According to an arrest report obtained by 2 News, the incident involved rival gang members. The report redacts the name of the second suspect but provides details about the actions of the first suspect, 17-year-old Stefan Howard Jr. Surveillance footage reveals that Howard Jr. and the second suspect encountered the victims in the front lobby, leading to an argument. As more members from the victim group arrived, Howard Jr. attempted to leave but fired shots through a window. Panic ensued, and one victim stumbled back into the lobby and collapsed, while another was locked out and attempted to jump over a railing before being shot. Friends of the victims attempted CPR until police arrived. .380 caliber and 9mm casings were found at the scene. Howard Jr. was located and arrested at a family residence. During a police interview, he claimed that the other group wanted to harm him and that he did not know them prior to the incident. Howard Jr. is currently in custody and facing a charge of open murder. The victims have been identified as 17-year-old Santiago.
