The headliner for Friday night is the renowned Kendrick Lamar, while other notable acts include Jesse Reyes and Thirty Seconds to Mars.
Mayor Brandon Johnson took to the stage on Thursday evening to introduce the talented Billie Eilish, proclaiming Lollapalooza as the greatest festival in the world and expressing his excitement for the event. The festival-goers displayed their enthusiasm as they rushed through the gates on the opening day, eager to secure prime viewing spots in front of the stages. The sense of community and camaraderie at Lollapalooza was evident, with attendees looking out for one another and appreciating the beauty of the venue.
As day two commences, festival-goers can look forward to another day filled with non-stop music and the exhilarating rush that comes with the gates opening at 11 a.m. Attendees must adhere to the festival’s guidelines regarding the items they can bring along. Permitted items include clear bags made of transparent materials, baby strollers, binoculars, basic point-and-shoot cameras, empty reusable water bottles, sunscreen in non-aerosol containers, and factory-sealed Naloxone/Narcan kits.
However, there is a list of prohibited items that participants must be aware of, such as blankets, frisbees, coolers (except for medical use), professional audio recording and video equipment, drones, hammocks, glass containers, illegal substances, outside food or beverage, umbrellas, pets (excluding service animals), selfie sticks, and personal motorized vehicles. Additionally, unauthorized vendors and solicitation are strictly prohibited, and weapons, explosives, and fireworks are not allowed within the festival grounds.
Moreover, festival attendees requiring prescription medication must present the pharmacy-labeled container, clearly stating the prescription, dosage, and patient name, to the medical staff at each entrance gate. Only an adequate supply of the prescribed medication for the day is permitted, inhalers for inhaled or smoked medicines are allowed, and over-the-counter medications are allowed in sufficient quantities, subject to verification by medical personnel.
