The tragic accident took place at the junction of North College Drive and Stewart Drive, with emergency services being alerted at approximately 1:40 p.m. Upon their arrival, law enforcement and first responders confirmed the presence of a stationary vehicle that had come to rest against the pole. The driver, identified as Barbara Wade, was promptly transported to Bon Secours Southampton Memorial Hospital by medical personnel, but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. It is important to note that there were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Efforts are currently underway to repair the damage sustained by the traffic lights at the intersection.
