Two people have been killed and two others injured in a motor vehicle collision in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The incident took place on August 1, 2023, when a Ford SUV and a Toyota sedan collided at an intersection. The driver and passenger of the Toyota sustained life-threatening injuries and were taken to a trauma center, where the passenger later died. The driver of the Ford suffered minor injuries. GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A serious motor vehicle collision in Glen Burnie, Maryland on August 1, 2023, resulted in the tragic deaths of two individuals and injuries to two others.

The incident took place at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Ritchie Highway at Norfolk Road, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department. Initial investigations indicate that a 2021 Ford SUV traveling southbound on Ritchie Highway collided with a 2016 Toyota sedan attempting to make a left turn onto Norfolk Road from the northbound lane of Ritchie Highway.

The Toyota’s driver and passenger, identified as 29-year-old Daniel Steven Davis and a 31-year-old woman, both residents of Glen Burnie, suffered life-threatening injuries. They were immediately transported to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Regrettably, the passenger succumbed to her injuries, and notifications are currently being made to her family.

On August 2, the Anne Arundel County Police Department confirmed the unfortunate passing of Daniel Steven Davis due to the injuries sustained in the collision.

The Ford’s driver, a 55-year-old woman from Annapolis, sustained minor injuries, while the passenger, a 60-year-old woman, remained unharmed.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Traffic Safety Section is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
