On July 28, deputies were called to Hillcreek Road after receiving reports of a possible shooting. They discovered an unresponsive female, later identified as Kayla Hodges, who had been fatally shot. Further investigation revealed that two masked individuals armed with guns had entered the residence, demanding something from the occupants before shooting Hodges.
