A fatal crash involving a vehicle and a Peterbilt semi-trailer occurred on state Highway 62 in Texas. The driver of the Dodge vehicle, identified as Brenton Vaughan, was pronounced dead at the scene. A fatal crash on state Highway 62, just south of Interstate Highway 10, is currently under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The incident occurred on Saturday and involved a commercial motor vehicle.

According to preliminary reports, the crash took place at around 3:45 a.m. when a 2017 Dodge Challenger was traveling southbound. It is believed that a 2024 Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer pulled out from a private drive, resulting in a collision between the Dodge and the semi-trailer. The Dodge ended up going underneath the semi-trailer.

Fortunately, the driver of the truck tractor and one passenger escaped the incident without any injuries. However, the driver of the Dodge, identified as 30-year-old Brenton Vaughan from Bridge City, tragically lost his life at the scene. A justice of the peace pronounced Vaughan deceased.

Meanwhile, the passenger in the Dodge was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for medical treatment. The authorities have identified the driver of the truck tractor as 58-year-old Jose Caloca from Mexico.
