The body of missing 27-year-old Goldman Sachs analyst John Castic has been found in Newtown Creek, Brooklyn. Castic disappeared after leaving a concert at the Brooklyn Mirage nightclub. This is the second instance in two months of a person going missing in the area, with the body of 27-year-old Karl Clemente also being found in the creek. The cause of Castic’s death is still unknown, pending an investigation by the city medical examiner. Lisa Evers reported

Authorities revealed on Monday that the New York Police Department (NYPD) had released a photograph of missing John Castic, a 27-year-old Goldman Sachs analyst. He vanished after leaving a concert at the Brooklyn Mirage nightclub around 3 a.m. on Saturday.

Today, the police confirmed that they have positively identified his body, which was retrieved from the nearby Newtown Creek.

Tragically, a friend who had intended to volunteer for the search instead witnessed the heartbreaking scene. The friend expressed, “We shared many good times and memories together.”

Castic is the second person in two months to go missing in the vicinity of the Brooklyn Mirage. On June 11, 27-year-old Karl Clemente was last seen outside the club after allegedly being denied entry due to apparent intoxication. His body was later discovered in the nearby creek.

City Council Member Jennifer Gutierrez expressed her concerns, saying, “We want people to enjoy the nightlife here, but we also want them to return home safely to their families. It’s a heartbreaking situation that could happen to anyone.”

The NYPD has stated that the cause of John Castic’s death cannot be determined until the city’s medical examiner conducts an investigation and issues a report.

We attempted to reach out to the press office of the Brooklyn Mirage for comment, but we did not receive a response by the time of airing.
