Mourning Family Sets Up Memorial for Woman Killed in Southeast Portland
PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – In a tragic incident in Southeast Portland, Laura Guerrero-Rafaela lost her life, leaving her family devastated. To honor her memory, Guerrero-Rafaela’s family has established a memorial near the location of the incident.
Described as a kind and nurturing mother, Guerrero-Rafaela’s untimely demise has shaken her loved ones to the core. “It’s just a shock to everybody,” expressed Arleth Pacheco-Rafaela, Guerrero-Rafaela’s niece. “It’s just hard for all of us right now.”
Margaret Bonilla, Guerrero-Rafaela’s sister-in-law, tearfully shared, “She was a mother, a sister, a daughter. We demand justice for her, as she was ripped away from a large family.”
According to the Portland Police, the authorities responded to a shooting incident on Southeast 111th Avenue on Wednesday. Laura Guerrero-Rafaela was found deceased, succumbing to gunshot wounds.
While the family reported that the suspect has been apprehended in Missouri, awaiting extradition to Oregon, FOX 12 has reached out to the Portland Police for confirmation.
“I want to remember her as a happy and loving person because that’s who she was,” said Pacheco-Rafaela.
