Deadly Crash in Antioch: Driver to be Arrested for Vehicular Homicide

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 21-year-old driver will face charges of vehicular homicide once he is released from the hospital following a fatal crash in Antioch on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. near the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Pin Hook Road, according to Metro police.
Investigators stated that Wisner Edouard, 21, was driving a Dodge Charger at high speeds southbound on Murfreesboro Pike, attempting to overtake slower traffic by changing lanes. As he moved into the center turn lane, he collided with a Honda Civic that was waiting to turn left into a grocery store parking lot.
The Charger then crossed into the northbound lanes of Murfreesboro Pike and crashed head-on into an Isuzu flatbed wrecker. The impact caused the Charger to catch fire.
Edouard managed to exit the vehicle, while passersby rescued a rear seat passenger and a front seat passenger, identified as 28-year-old Joshua Jenkins of La Vergne. Unfortunately, Jenkins succumbed to his injuries after being transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Edouard and the back seat passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Upon his release from the hospital, Edouard will be arrested and charged with vehicular homicide, driving on a suspended license, and four counts of aggravated assault by recklessness, according to the police.
This is not the first time Edouard has had a brush with the law. He was previously charged with reckless driving on November 16, 2021, for driving at a speed of over 104 mph in a 55 mph zone on I-440 near the Hillsboro Pike exit. He was ultimately convicted of speeding in that incident.
