A deadly crash involving a motorcycle occurred in Hancock County, Indiana on Sunday afternoon. The crash involved a Kawasaki motorcycle and a Chevy Silverado pickup truck. The motorcyclist, identified as 30-year-old Robert Siuzdak of Avon, was traveling at a high rate of speed and passed several vehicles in a no-passing area. Hancock County Sheriff’s Department Investigates Deadly Motorcycle Crash in Indiana

HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. — The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle that occurred on Sunday afternoon in Indiana. The incident took place at the intersection of U.S. 36 and County Road 400 West at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Authorities from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, along with officers from the McCordsville and Fortville police departments, responded to the scene following reports of the crash. The collision involved a 2006 Kawasaki Motorcycle and a 2014 Chevy Silverado Pickup. Tragically, the male driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Chevy Silverado remained uninjured.

According to witnesses, the motorcyclist was traveling at an extremely high speed and was observed overtaking multiple vehicles in a no-passing zone. The motorcyclist has since been identified as 30-year-old Robert Siuzdak from Avon.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the truck was crossing both lanes of U.S. 36 to continue north on County Road 400 West. Evidence at the scene indicates that the truck had already crossed the eastbound lane of U.S. 36 and was in the process of crossing the westbound lane when the motorcycle collided with it while attempting to pass other vehicles.

The sheriff’s department has confirmed that Siuzdak was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. U.S. 36 was temporarily closed for two hours in order to facilitate the investigation.
