ATV Crash in Kittitas County Claims Lives of Four Young Individuals

Four young people, aged between 23 and 26, tragically lost their lives in an ATV crash near Liberty in Kittitas County on Saturday. The incident occurred when a Polaris Razor side-by-side ATV rolled over and caught fire while driving in the Wenatchee-Okanogan National Forest. The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office received a distress call at approximately 4:00 pm and immediately dispatched deputies to the scene.

Upon arrival, medics and firefighters worked tirelessly to assist those trapped in the ATV and prevent the fire from spreading further. Unfortunately, two individuals succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while the remaining two were treated on-site before being airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where they ultimately passed away.

The victims have been identified as 24-year-old Conner Jenkins of Orting, the reported owner of the ATV, 23-year-old Benjamin Santana of Covington, 26-year-old Devon Anonson of Kent, and 24-year-old Halle Cole of Maple Valley. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.

This devastating incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety precautions and responsible ATV handling. The community mourns the loss of these young lives and extends its deepest condolences to their families and friends during this difficult time.
