Stilesville, Ind. – A tragic single-vehicle accident occurred on Monday morning, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old male. The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office rushed to the scene, located on U.S. 40 near County Road 300 West, following a report to the Hendricks County Communications Center at approximately 6:20 a.m.

Preliminary findings indicate that a Saturn car was traveling eastbound on U.S. 40 when, for reasons yet to be determined, it veered off the road and collided with a tree.

Regrettably, the driver, who was the sole occupant and later identified as a 17-year-old, was pronounced dead at the scene. The authorities have ruled out drugs and alcohol as contributing factors in the tragic crash.

Out of respect for the family, the identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification.
