Redwood City, CA – In a tragic incident on Sunday, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office revealed that one woman has been killed and another injured in a violent stabbing. Authorities responded to a distress call on Fair Oaks Avenue around 12:30 a.m., where they found a man covered in blood outside the residence. The man was swiftly apprehended.

Upon entering the home, deputies discovered two women with multiple stab wounds. Immediate medical assistance was provided, and both victims were transported to Stanford Medical Center. Unfortunately, one of the women succumbed to her injuries. The suspect, Jose Uriarte-Martinez, has been identified and is currently in custody at the Maguire Correctional Facility. He is being held without bail.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
