Pedestrian Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash in Bradenton, Florida

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A tragic accident occurred in Bradenton on Friday, resulting in the death of a pedestrian in a three-vehicle crash, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol. The incident took place at the intersection of State Road 70 and US 41.

The crash unfolded when a 24-year-old female driver, making a left turn at the intersection, collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by a 21-year-old man. Tragically, the impact of the collision caused the male driver to strike a 60-year-old pedestrian who was standing on a median divider.

As if the situation wasn’t already horrifying, the pedestrian was propelled directly in front of a Sarasota County bus carrying passengers, which also struck the victim. Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the collision, the male driver fled the scene on foot. However, he was later apprehended and taken into custody. He now faces charges of leaving the scene with death, vehicular homicide, and driving without a license. The driver has since been booked into the Manatee County Jail.

The Florida Highway Patrol is actively investigating the crash while working to determine the exact cause of this devastating incident.
