Tragic accident Claims the Life of a 39-Year-Old Man at Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort in Florida

In a heartbreaking incident, a 39-year-old man was discovered lifeless after a fatal fall from a hotel balcony at Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort in Florida. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office, who responded to the distress call, confirmed that the man, identified as Jeffery Vanden Boom from Greendale, Wisconsin, tragically lost his life due to blunt force trauma sustained from the fall. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday morning, has been ruled as an accident.

The Contemporary Resort, situated adjacent to the renowned Magic Kingdom theme park, was the unfortunate site of this devastating occurrence. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office promptly arrived at the scene after receiving a distress call at 5:33 a.m. concerning an unresponsive individual found on the hotel grounds. Despite their efforts, they were unable to revive the victim, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

While the Orange County Sheriff’s Office has provided confirmation of the incident, there has been no official statement or response from Disney World regarding the tragic event. However, reports from individuals claiming to be hotel guests have surfaced on social media, describing a police tent and caution tape cordoning off the area. Some guests were also warned against accessing their balconies as a safety precaution.

One Reddit user shared their experience, stating, “I’m pretty sure someone just died at our hotel… we got a call at 7:30 someone had a medical emergency and not to go on the balconies and then they had people redirecting us. And then we went outside and there’s a tent set up right under a balcony and it’s all taped up.”

This unfortunate incident echoes a similar tragedy that occurred last year at Walt Disney World. On September 25, 2022, an 83-year-old Florida veteran named Joseph A. Masters passed away while riding the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at the Magic Kingdom. Mr. Masters fainted during the ride, causing his wife, Alice, to panic and seek immediate assistance. Disney workers and security hurried to the scene as soon as the ride concluded, performing CPR in an attempt to save his life. Unfortunately, their efforts were in vain, and Mr. Masters was transported to Celebration Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

It was later discovered that Mr. Masters had a pacemaker and had been dealing with various medical issues, including diabetes and hypertension. Upon further examination, doctors revealed a significant blockage in an artery near his heart. His loving wife, Mrs. Masters, fondly recalls that her husband passed away in his “happy place” as he had a deep affection for Disney.

The loss of life in these tragic incidents serves as a reminder of the importance of safety and vigilance, even in seemingly secure environments such as Walt Disney World. As the investigations continue, our thoughts are with the families affected by these heartbreaking accidents..
