A 51-year-old cyclist was killed in Rohnert Park after being hit by a pick-up truck. The incident occurred on Commerce Boulevard, and the cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries. Cyclist Fatally Struck by Pick-up Truck in Rohnert Park

A tragic incident unfolded in Rohnert Park on Friday, resulting in the death of a cyclist who was struck by a pick-up truck. The victim, identified as a 51-year-old resident of Santa Rosa, lost their life in this unfortunate accident.

At approximately 12:40 p.m., the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) swiftly responded to the scene located in the 5700 block of Commerce Boulevard. Authorities found the cyclist lying on the ground, critically injured and fighting for their life.

According to the RPDPS, a Ram 1500 was making a turn from a parking lot into the northbound lane of Commerce Boulevard when it collided with the cyclist traveling in the opposite direction. Tragically, the cyclist was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, unable to survive the severe injuries sustained in the collision.

The driver of the truck responsibly remained at the scene following the crash, cooperating with authorities throughout the investigation. It has been determined that neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in this tragic incident.
