A motorcyclist who went missing in the north Georgia mountains has been found dead after crashing his motorcycle, according to the Towns County Sheriff’s Office. The driver, identified as Michael Patrick Brock, 53, was last seen on his motorcycle in the area of Highway 75 in the Unicoi Mountains.

Brock was headed to Towns County from Helen when he vanished, and deputies were called to the scene to search for him. They eventually found him and his motorcycle down an embankment around the top of a mountain. Unfortunately, Brock died at the scene.

The Unicoi Mountains, a sub-range of the Blue Ridge Mountains, stretch across the Tennessee-North Carolina border. They are known for their stunning beauty and are a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The range has 84 named peaks, with Huckleberry Knob being the highest at 5,564 feet.

Details about the crash and the exact location where Brock’s body was found have not been released, but authorities believe he had been dead for a few hours before being discovered.

The crash is currently under investigation, and the Georgia State Patrol has been contacted for further details.

This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the dangers that can come with motorcycle riding, especially on mountainous terrain. It is important for riders to always prioritize safety and take necessary precautions when embarking on such journeys.
