A 33-year-old man was tragically shot and killed outside of a restaurant in the Logan section of Philadelphia, according to authorities. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning when a woman flagged down police officers to report a man lying in the area of W Courtland Street and Belfield Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his head, chest, neck, and torso. Although he was still semi-responsive, he was rushed to Einstein Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Investigators found 12 spent shell casings just a few feet away from the victim’s body, indicating a violent and targeted attack. The shooting took place outside of a popular takeout restaurant, and surveillance cameras in the area captured footage of the victim engaging in an altercation with a man and a woman just moments before the gunfire erupted.

According to Chief Inspector Scott Small, the victim had been picking up food when the dispute occurred, and the confrontation escalated to the point where the male suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim. The shooter then fled the scene in a white SUV, possibly with the woman involved.

The victim’s Dodge Challenger was still parked outside of the restaurant when authorities arrived. Although the victim did possess a firearm, he was unable to use it in self-defense.

Homicide detectives with the Philadelphia Police Department are actively investigating the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward. As this is a developing story, updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
