Park County, MT – A tragic accident in Park County, Montana has claimed the life of a 21-year-old man from Wheaton, Illinois. The victim, identified as Ian Vilkama, suffered massive head trauma in a fatal ATV crash last week.

On Friday, July 14th, at approximately 11 AM, emergency dispatch received a distressing 911 call reporting an ATV accident in a field. The caller stated that Vilkama, who was the only person on the side-by-side ATV, had been ejected from the vehicle, and it had subsequently rolled onto his head and chest. This caused fatal crush injuries.

Bystanders at the scene quickly sprang into action, managing to remove the ATV from on top of Vilkama and initiate CPR immediately. However, despite the best efforts of those present, the victim’s injuries proved to be fatal.

When law enforcement, emergency medical services, and the fire department arrived, they continued resuscitation efforts. Unfortunately, Vilkama succumbed to his injuries, and it was later determined that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
