“Fatal Traffic Crash on Row River Rd. Claims Life of Passenger”

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has been busy with various cases and investigations recently. One of the incidents involved a fatal traffic crash on Row River Rd. where a white Honda Accord collided with a gray Dodge Avenger. Sadly, a passenger in the Dodge Avenger lost their life in the accident. The LCSO is currently investigating the crash and is asking anyone with information to come forward.

In another case, a hit and run crash resulted in serious injuries. The suspect vehicle, a gray 2009 Honda Civic, was located and the driver, Modesto Ramos-Lopez, was taken into custody. Ramos-Lopez faces several charges, including assault and hit and run.

There have also been reports of a motorcycle vs. car crash on London Rd. The car involved fled the scene, while the motorcycle’s operator and passenger were both transported to the hospital with life-threatening and serious injuries, respectively. The LCSO is asking for anyone with information about the crash or the vehicle involved to contact them.

Additionally, the LCSO conducted overtime patrols in the Veneta area during the Oregon Country Fair to address dangerous driving behaviors. They issued citations for offenses such as driving while suspended, no safety belt usage, cell phone usage while driving, and vehicle equipment violations.

The Sheriff’s Office is also seeking an assault suspect, Matthew Lawrence Kubal, who allegedly struck two individuals with rocks before fleeing the scene on a bicycle. Kubal is described as a white male adult and is believed to be transient.
