On July 18, 2023, a tragic one-car motor vehicle accident occurred on State Route 104 in the Town of Murray, Orleans County. The accident involved a vehicle traveling eastbound, which veered off the road and collided with a tree. Fortunately, the property owner near the scene heard the accident and noticed that the vehicle was on fire. They bravely extricated the sole occupant from the vehicle and managed to extinguish the fire before emergency responders arrived.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 27-year-old Kolin J. McKain, an Albion resident. Sadly, despite efforts to save him, McKain succumbed to his injuries after being transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Monroe Ambulance. The Murray Joint Fire District handled all vehicle hazards and provided traffic control at the scene.
