“15-year-old Angel Acevedo of Houma Dies in Tragic Single-Vehicle Crash”

A tragic incident occurred on July 9th, resulting in the death of a 15-year-old boy named Angel Acevedo from Houma, Louisiana. According to the Louisiana State Police, Angel sustained fatal injuries in a single-vehicle crash that took place on U.S. Highway 90.

The accident happened at around 5 p.m. on U.S. Highway 90 eastbound, just west of Louisiana Highway 1. Angel and a group of juveniles were traveling in a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer when the rear tire suddenly failed. The driver attempted to regain control by steering right, but unfortunately, the SUV spun out of control, veered off the road, and overturned.

Tragically, Angel was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, suffering critical injuries. The driver, who was the only person wearing a seatbelt, sustained moderate injuries. Additionally, the three juvenile passengers in the rear of the vehicle, who were also not wearing seatbelts, suffered moderate injuries.

All individuals involved in the crash were transported to the hospital for treatment. The police have collected a standard toxicology sample from the juvenile driver and submitted it for analysis. The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
