Two individuals lost their lives in a tragic accident over the weekend in Massachusetts. Robert Stocker, 17, from Woburn, and Brady Petrucci, 20, from Raynham, were riding a dirt bike when they collided with an SUV near a shopping plaza in Wareham. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly before 11 p.m. on Saturday and found the victims, both without helmets, unresponsive and suffering from serious injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, they were pronounced dead.

According to the preliminary investigation conducted, it appears that the SUV was making a left turn when the dirt bike crashed into it. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene of the accident. It was also noted that the dirt bike did not have any lights, further compromising the safety of the riders.

The tragic incident has left the community in mourning. Robert Stocker was a student at Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational High School in Wakefield. The school’s superintendent, David DiBarri, expressed his deep sadness at the loss of Robert, describing him as a beloved student. Grief counselors have been made available at the school to support students and faculty through this difficult time.

This heartbreaking accident serves as a reminder of the importance of following safety protocols, such as wearing helmets and ensuring that vehicles, including motorcycles and dirt bikes, are equipped with proper lighting. It also highlights the need for drivers to remain vigilant and cautious on the roads, especially when making turns or encountering smaller vehicles.

As the community mourns the loss of these two young lives, it is essential for everyone to reflect on the importance of road safety and to take necessary precautions to prevent such tragedies in the future..
