Fatal Crash in Posey County: 1 Dead, Suspect Arrested

A fatal crash in Posey County, Indiana has resulted in the death of one person and the arrest of another. The incident occurred at the intersection of State Road 66 and Blue Grass Road. Authorities were alerted to a vehicle in a ditch, and upon arrival, they found a male and female inside. The male was able to exit the vehicle, but unfortunately, the female was trapped and pronounced dead at the scene. As of now, her identity has not been released.

The male, identified as Dustin Ethan Broad, 35, from Spotsville, Kentucky, was transported to Deaconess Hospital for treatment. However, authorities soon discovered that Broad had a suspended driver’s license and multiple active arrest warrants from Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties.

Authorities also suspect that Broad was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He is currently in the Posey County Confinement Center for his warrants and faces preliminary charges that include Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death (Level 4 Felony), Operating While Intoxicated (Prior Conviction) (Level 6 Felony), Operating While Intoxicated (Endangerment) (Class A Misdemeanor), Operating While License is Suspended (Prior) (Class A Misdemeanor), and Operating While Intoxicated (Controlled Substance) (Class C Misdemeanor).

The investigation is being assisted by the Indiana State Police. The details surrounding the crash and the circumstances leading up to it are still under investigation.
